General Motors has prepared a promotion, for a large number SUV models from their game. Many of them will arrive completely redesigned and installed on new platforms and new economical engines. The smallest SUV, the Buick brand is waiting for this same treatment. Until then, customers will be offered upgraded 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring. Its sales will begin in autumn 2015, the US market.
2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring Changes
This model got upgraded four-cylinder 1.4-liter turbo engine. This one is based on a completely new family of engines. It has a start/stop system and direct fuel injection system. It is offered with six-speed automatic transmission and develops 153 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. Engine power is transmitted to the front wheels or optional on all four wheels. The standard model has an engine of the same volume. However, that’s all. This upgraded engine delivers more power output of 11% and 20% more torque, as compared to a 1.4-liter engine, in a standard, Encore model.
In addition to the improved and more powerful engine, the 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring is richly equipped, compared to the standard model. The vehicle received a set of aluminum 18-inch wheels, door handles in body color, new fog lights, and rear roof spoiler. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with dual zone climate control, a system that alerts the driver to the vehicle in the blind spot, as well as many other systems. There is also an extra Convenience package that includes power socket voltage 120V.
2017 Buick Encore new generation
2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring will be the most advanced model in the range. According to some announcements next generation could occur by 2017. Similar to 2017 Buick Enclave SUV model, the 2017 Buick Encore could go through process redesign and change the platform. In this way would mark the start of a new generation of this model. The 2017 Encore should bring significant improvements compared to the current model. Whether this model will go the way they have taken many GM SUV models, it remains to be seen.
