2016 Nissan Murano Hybrid – Release Date

The latest version of the Nissan Murano crossover SUV, was presented at the Motor Show in Shanghai (China), 2015. It is a 2016 Nissan Murano Hybrid, and its sales should begin in the second half of 2015. Customers in the market of China will have the  opportunity that first purchase this new model. Later, sales will expand to other markets.

The Nissan Murano is a mid-size crossover SUV, which appeared on the market in late 2002 as a 2003 model. Otherwise, it is the first SUV model that Nissan company offered to the US market. Its convertible version, called Murano CrossCabriolet, has been on sale since 2010 as a 2011 model.

Nissan Murano is placed between the Xterra and Pathfinder models in Nissan’s SUV palette. Although smaller than the Pathfinder model, the price is slightly higher. The reason for this is the level of equipment and larger doses of luxury, with Murano models.

2016 Nissan Murano Hybrid is based on the third generation model, which is on sale since 2014, as a 2015 Nissan Murano. Production takes place in Canton, Mississippi. Vehicle design is inspired by Resonance Concept model, as well as the all new 2015 Nissan Murano. It includes a toned-down “V-Motion” nose, and the trademark boomerang-shaped light fixtures, along with a “floating roof” design and an updated infotainment system and newer security features.

The standard model is offered in four different trim levels, S, SV, SL and Platinum. All versions use the same, the VQ-series 3.5-liter V6 engine (3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine). The engine develops 260 horsepower and average fuel consumption is 21city/28hwy mpg. The least equipped Murano S, costs $ 29.650, while the top of the range makes Murano Platinum, which costs $ 39,000.

2016 Nissan Murano Hybrid launches hybrid system, which combines a petrol engine, electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. The petrol 2.5-liter QR25DER four-cylinder engine develops 250 horsepower of power and 329 Nm of torque, while the electric motor has an output of 20 hp. Price for the 2016 Nissan Murano Hybrid, has not yet been announced, but is expected to be within the price of the new generation Nissan Murano SUV models.
