For 2016 Terrain, General Motors has prepared a mild facelift and minor changes. A completely new generation model is expected in late 2016 or early 2017. The 2017 GMC Terrain will arrive completely redesigned with many improvements.
The GMC Terrain going through similar treatment as well as the company’s “brother” Chevrolet Equinox. The first generation model was introduced at the 2009 New York International Auto Show as a 2010 model. It replaced the Pontiac Torrent in GM range of SUVs. Since its appearance, Terrain went through smaller adjustments to, for MY 2013 and MY 2016. Now it is time for a change, so it is a logical move of company to announce the second generation model through a redesign of the vehicle.
2017 GMC Terrain Changes and Redesign
A facelift for the 2016 model included new front and rear fascias, new grille and power dome hood, LED daytime running lights, new wheels, and a new gear selector. Also, the interior received minor improvements and additions. This mid-size crossover SUV recorded excellent sales results in recent years. The current model runs 3.6-liter High Feature LFX V6 engine with 301 horsepower and 272 lb.-ft. of torque. Engine power is transmitted to the front wheels, while the AWD version option. In the base version, the current model has a starting price of $ 27.335. Top version, the 2017 GMC Terrain Denali costs $ 38,000.
The company has not announced the possibility of extending supply powertrains for the 2017 GMC Terrain. However, the new platform and aspire to achieve better EPA ratings, could result in offering even a new engine in the range. Price for the 2017 Terrain should remain at the same level as the price of the current model.
